Fox and Laurel is an atelier of high-end oddities where the tactile world of craft meets the ethereal world of memory. Founded by artist and educator Lauren Tod, it is a sanctuary for handmade goods—from garden-grown apothecary and hand-thrown ceramics to dream-like fine art—that refuse the polish of digital perfection in favor of an "Honest Perspective." Every piece is a deeply personal exploration of heritage, whimsy, and the beautiful, surreal tension of the human experience.

Today was a Fairytale
This is "Today was a Fairytale," a pivotal moment within The Uninvited Guest series. This large-scale piece was created with Prismacolor colored pencils on heavyweight drawing paper.
This composition is heavily and lovingly inspired by the whimsy of Mary Blair and the enchanting landscapes of classic Disney animations I adored as a child. It represents a beautifully constructed fantasy state—a perfect, curated world of fountains and castles. However, in this scene, the "fairytale" is interrupted. After all the running and hiding depicted in other pieces, I am shown caught, fully enveloped within the pink beam of the UFO nemesis.
This piece serves as a striking visual of surrender to the inevitable disruption of the past; it shows that even inside our most perfect constructed defenses and happy places, the "uninvited guest" can still find us, taking us out of the dream and back into the vacuum others cannot see.
Florence 25
Italy 25 is a sensory snapshot of a Tuscan afternoon spent cooling off with a glass of red wine sangria. Crafted with a moisturizing blend of Red Clay, Shea Butter, and Goat’s Milk, this bar restores the skin after a day under the Mediterranean sun. Scents of rich wine and summer warmth are encased in a hand-painted wrapper, making this a bespoke high-end oddity inspired by the art of the Italian break.
Paris 25:
A Parisian breakfast captured in wax. Notes of warm buttered toast, nutty pistachio espresso, and a whisper of French lavender. Inspired by slow mornings in Paris, this candle is poured into a handmade clay vessel and finished with a crackling wooden wick. A bespoke tribute to the art of the start.

The Process
The Consultation: A one-on-one creative session (in-person or virtual) where we explore your scent profile, heritage, and inspirations.
The Alchemist’s Palette: We will blend my garden-grown botanicals with high-end oils to find your signature "Fox and Laurel" scent.
The Vessel: You will select your favorite hand-thrown clay vessel from my studio collection to house your creation.
